Statement from Alastair Mactaggart, Chair and Founder of Californians for Consumer Privacy, Recognizing Privacy Awareness Week in California
SACRAMENTO – In recognition of Privacy Awareness Week, Californians for Consumer Privacy Chair and Founder Alastair Mactaggart released the following statement:
“You can’t turn around without reading about another data breach, and it’s critically important to remind people how serious an issue this is. Our most personal information is the lamb, big data is the wolf, and consumers deserve control over who’s selling whether they went to the gym today to some health insurance company. That’s why Californians for Consumer Privacy is proud to recognize the third week of May as Privacy Awareness Week to continue to elevate the critical issue of consumer data privacy.”
