Californians for Consumer Privacy (CCP) is publishing this detailed analysis comparing the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) to the proposed federal privacy law currently being considered in Washington — the American Data Privacy and Protection Act (ADPPA). The goal of this document is to refute claims that ADPPA is a stronger privacy law than CPRA. The comparison most referenced by proponents of the ADPPA is an analysis published by the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC). Therefore, CCP will use EPIC’s comparison as a benchmark for its analysis.
